IC CHARACTERISTICS:
•CURRENT CANON POINT: Around the end of season 2; after departing Ganymede.
•PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Jim Holden is pretty. No, really -- canonically. He probably slouches a little; he wears a jumpsuit most of the time, usually unzipped or off to the waist, black t-shirt underneath it. He uses soap for the purposes of getting clean, not many scents or luxuries. When he grows a beard (rarely), it's patchy, grows in different consistencies, thicknesses, textures, and lengths. It's bad. His accent is American, something around Montana.
•DEMEANOR: Especially early on, he'll seem very tired or unsteady in full gravity, since he hasn't been in that for sustained stretches since he was younger and lived on Earth. He has a tendency to use physical gestures in addition to words, as those are easier to communicate through a vac suit than nods/etc. A raised fist for a nod, a flat hand gestured sideways for a 'no', that sort of thing. He nods and shakes his head regularly as well, since he grew up on Earth, but it's a behavioral tell that he's spent a lot of time in other places.
•ABILITIES: Human-normal. Holden is educated, combat-trained (mostly long-distance space combat; he was in Earth’s space navy for seven years). He’s passably competent with pretty much everything involving spaceflight, but he’s not a mechanic, not a doctor, not much of anything beyond a low-level navy guy then an asteroid miner. He has a natural charisma, the ability to make people listen to him, a pretty face, and a ridiculous ability to get into trouble, but I’m not sure those count as skills, really.
•MEDICAL INFORMATION: Several months ago, Jim received a massive dose of hard radiation, and if this were any other time, or he'd waited even five minutes longer for treatment, he wouldn't have survived. He has to constantly take meds to stop the cancers that continuously bloom in his tissues.
Jim has also spent a great deal of his life in low-gravity, and it shows.
•CABIN INFORMATION: The door is an airlock door, and the inside is the interior of the Rocinante, a very small Martian attack vessel, usually made for a crew of a dozen or so.
